Last week a few members of the BeFlexi team attended Intermodal Europe, the global leading container transport and logistics event, which has for four decades been the most important business platform for professionals in the industry. Here, we speak with Andrei Constantin who recently joined BeFlexi as Sales Executive on his impressions.

What is Intermodal Europe all about and why is it important?
Intermodal is a major exhibition in the industry. There are more than 140 leading shipping lines, operators, logistics companies and global suppliers exhibiting from over 80 countries. But, most importantly, there are around 5,000 visitors and 90% of those are decision-makers.

At BeFlexi we are about creating new market opportunities for our customers through the flexitank technology and offering flexitank services. The flexitank market has been demonstrating 20% annual growth in volumes in the last 5 years and the global demand is expected to escalate further. We want to continue to expand our global presence and help even more customers achieve their business goals in this ever-growing market. So this is the best place for us to be.

What themes came out of the Conference?
There was a packed Conference agenda across the three days covering various topics that were loosely based on sectors, such as rail freight, container shipping and so on.

For BeFlexi, the most relevant talks were on flexitank technology. A high point was the talk given by our Managing Director, Bruno Silva, who was invited to talk about global flexitank market trends. The packed auditorium was full of delegates keen to hear insights on the latest trends and what makes a brilliant global flexitank operator.

One of the topics which was unanimously agreed upon across the board, was about a collective project to set standards for the flexitank industry. This is something BeFlexi is starting work on. An agreement has been made between us and our global partner, SGS, to start putting together these standards and practices for the flexitank industry. The goal being to improve awareness of this technology in the market and to create a shortcut between manufacturers and end users (have a read of the article here).

What were the highlights?
This was my first event with BeFlexi and a great one too owing to the high calibre and number of visitors it attracted. There was real buzz throughout the three days and I had the chance to meet many senior leaders from within the industry. It was fantastic too that BeFlexi was met with such positive feedback, both from our existing partners and potential customers. I think the trip was successful.

What’s next?
Now, I have already begun the process of collating all the business cards I was given and am putting together an action plan for the follow up. Judging by the feedback from the three days, I am confident that I will be able to secure a number of meetings for BeFlexi.
