BeFlexi is proud to announce it has joined Cyprus Shipping Chamber as an Associate Domestic Member.

Cyprus Shipping Chamber is the trade association of the Shipping Industry in Cyprus, that represents interests of its professional Member-companies, at a national level through its close relations with the Cyprus Government and Parliament,  as well as at an international level through its membership in various regional and international shipowners associations. Established in January 1989, the Chamber today comprises all the major ship-owning, ship-management, chartering and shipping related companies based in Cyprus.

Cyprus hosts the largest third-party ship management centre in the EU, underlining the success of the country’s maritime sector. The Cyprus Registry is classified as the tenth largest merchant fleet in the world and the third largest fleet in the EU and flying its flag are some 1100 ocean-going vessels and 767 non-convention size vessels, totalling a gross tonnage of around 22 million.

Cyprus has become an international shipping centre combining both a sovereign flag and a resident shipping industry. The country is home for ship-management, chartering, crewing, ship surveying, shipbroking, salvaging, marine insurance, freight forwarding,  and other shipping related companies. Cyprus is a member of many international organisations and is known for it’s balanced and cooperative foreign policy. Consequently, vessels flying the Cyprus flag receive a warm and sincere welcome in almost all ports around the globe.

Cyprus economy is ranked as strong and stable business environment with an attractive fiscal system for corporates and highly skilled workforce. The national economy returned to growth in the first quarter of 2015 and has successfully concluded its three-year financial assistance programme at the end of March 2016. Cyprus economic recovery is called a success story of economic reforms that have put the country on a path of sustainable growth.
